The Project

A new under-sea power cable and power station was commissioned for the airport and resort.  This involved a complex and abrupt changeover which could not have effects on the airport or resort.  The works consisted of $30 million worth of new electrical network, fuel systems and power station.  The design was optimized for maximum flexibility, creating a system which was fully adaptable to all potential island electrical loading.

Results

• The entire powerhouse and all systems were commissioned and fully online with one hour with no issues during the changeover process.
